  • I can not import the MTS to Adobe Premiere, but get the message 'the file is broken or the file is not supported'. I am using Premiere Pro CC 2017. Is there a solution to this problem?

From Adobe Premiere website, we can see the MTS has no sound issue or the MTS unsupported compression type issue has become the known issue. And it often happens with Premiere Pro CC 2015.3 (versions 10.3 and 10.4) and Premiere Pro CC 2017 (version 11.0). And the following part will provide two commonly used solutions.

Method One: Clean, rename and move Media Cache

  • Step 1: Click Preferences > Media>delete all files from "Media Cache" and "Media Cache Files" folders.
  • Step 2: Rename the Media Cache folder. Go to the Media Cache location, rename the Media Cache folder to Media Cache Files_OLD and Media Cache_OLD.
  • Step 3: Change Media Cache location. Move the Media Cache from its original location to another new location.

After the three steps, try to import the MTS again. The solution will work in most cases. But if the MTS importing issue still exists try the following Solution Two which will work in all cases.
